Permanently protecting flows in the Upper Colorado River Basin
The Shoshone Water Right Preservation Coalition & Campaign represents a diverse group of stakeholders working toward permanent protection of the historic Shoshone Water Rights – some of the largest and most senior non-consumptive water rights on the Colorado River.
Now is your chance to act!
The Colorado River District is calling on supporters like you to submit written public comments in support of the effort to permanently protect the Shoshone water rights.
Tell the CWCB you support accepting the Shoshone Hydropower Plant’s historic water rights into Colorado’s Instream Flow Program. This is a vital step in protecting year-round river flows, and supporting communities, agriculture, recreation, the environment, and local economies across Western Colorado.
Follow this step-by-step guide to submit your comment today:
- Submit today: Public comments to support permanent protection of the Shoshone Water Rights are due by September 18. Your voice can make a real difference.
